Who exactly is Big Sugar Music? BSM was founded by the father and son team of Jack Hendry and Mark Stephen Hendry. It was founded as a Publishing Company and registered with (BMI) for the purpose of publishing these two writers songs. As time progressed they were joined by Michael Dale Trusty (Zane) and James Harmon Cooper (Jerry Cramer) and began to expand opening its doors to writers of all genres'.
We are first and foremost Publishing Company. We are always looking for good songs to publish and promote to artist, record labels and movie producers. We use a simple songwriter/publishers agreement (not one you need a herd of attorneys to interpret). There is no fine print, it is plain and simple to understand. We are songwriters ourselves and we want our agreements to be in the best interest of those who wish us to publish their songs. We accept unsolicited materials which is not the norm in this business. We believe that big publishers are missing great number one songs by not allowing all writers to send them their songs. We are honest and straight forward when it comes to music and we will tell you if your song is commercial or not. We offer a co-writing service to help writers with songs that need to be commercialized. We also offer a reviewing service to critique your songs and we charge a flat rate of $25.00 per song review. We want all songwriters to send us their songs for possible publishing. We will publish only songs that meet our standards but we will also offer advice to the writers for songs we turn down. We have many artists whom we work with that our constantly looking for material to put on their albums. We want to build our catalog with great songs! Our Great Affiliates The Cramer Management Group CMG manages artist and develops their careers. It do not manage the artist finances. CMG manages them by means of advice, consultation, and promoting them around the world. CMG charges a standard 15% of the net income derived by the artist within the music industry. There is also a flat administrative fee charged of $ 50.00 per-month to handle office wages, paperwork, mailings and phone calls if charged for such calls. CMG will also charge off any expenses incurred such as travel for meetings on behalf of the artist among other such expenditures. A receipt for these expenses is passed along to the artist and is to be paid at the end of the month along with the administrative fee for that month. CMG Internet Marketing and Development We can provide an artist with international Internet marketing and development. We charge a flat rate of $35.00 for an initial consultation. Once the consultation has ended we can at that time quote you a price for such services. There are too many avenues that we can go down to market you across the World Wide Web making it impossible to give you a flat rate price. CMG Road Show Productions We offer consultation, advice and we can produce and promote for you a full Road Show Production. The cost of this service varies with the extent of what you want us to provide for you. We will work with a national and international booking agency in most of these projects. We will work with national and international Advertising concerns in most of these projects as well. You must provide the talent, band and equipment for these projects or we can provide the musicians and equipment for you at a production price. These services are rendered on a per production cost and there fore we can not give you an immediate price until we have discussed this with you and all the others involved in such a project. We charge a flat $ 35.00 consulting fee for such service at the point of query. CMG Website Designing and Building We design and build websites for artist and songwriters only. Each project has to start with an initial consultation. We charge $ 35.00 for the consultation. Once the consultation session is over we will give you the total cost for the project. Open Door Records The Artist An Indie Record Label covering almost all known genres’ of music. The artist provides a professionally produced CD or Video for the label or cuts one of these in our studios in Texas or in one of its affiliate studios. The label has affiliate studios around the world as well as in Nashville, Atlanta, Chicago, New York, Denver and Los Angeles. The artist pays all recording cost if done in our studio or elsewhere. The Label will pay for the reproduction of said materials and will distribute them to radio stations internationally. All retail market CD’s will be produced by a major market replication service and bar coded for sales in the retail outlets. The cost of this replication is passed on to the artist. The labels will be responsible for shipping these materials to the retail outlets and will be reimbursed for the cost of such mailings. The labels will be in charge of Promotions of the artist product internationally. All cost for promotions will be paid by the labels. Artist will receive royalties for their songs that are being preformed and played on the airways. Open Door Recording Studio & Production Company Our recoding studio and production company is located in North Texas. We charge for these services as follows: Recording is charged out at $ 50.00 per-hour plus $ 75.00 for mixing and mastering if you record a full (10) song project. We have a two hour minimum charge. Our production service will provide you with a multi talented producer who charges a minimum fee of $ 300.00 per-(10) song production. We also produce Videos for artist as follows: Your slideshow clips edited and mastered with credits for places such as YouTube at a cost of $ 80.00 per-video. A complete video shot at our studio or in a local outdoor setting here in our area for marketing in the retail market place at a cost of $ 800.00 A complete video production shot at a location of you’re choosing outside of our area for a cost of $ 1200.00 plus travel expenses, motel/hotel accommodations and meals. Open Door Music CD’s Worldwide Distribution Open Door Records distributes both Audio CD’s & Videos to the world market place. CD marketing to 1000 radio stations cost $2500.00 and the artist must provide us with 1000 CD’s, Bio Sheets and Press Photos. CD’s are sent out alone with no other CD’s included in mailings. We provide the mailing envelopes and postage. We can send smaller runs if you like contact us for pricing. A BETTER PRICE: CD’s sent to 1000 radio stations. You provide us with one master CD, 1000 Bio Sheets and Press Photos and we produce1000 copies of your CD and send them out with our CD samplers run for the cost of $ 1800.00. We provide the mailing envelopes and postage. THE BEST PRICE: CD’s are sent to 1000 radio stations. You provide us with a song which will be placed on our sampler CD these are sent to our prime DJ list both here in the US and around the world for $ 150.00 per-song (2) song limit. You must also provide us one Bio Sheet and One Press Photo which we duplicate. We provide the mailing envelopes and postage. Open Door Music Track Productions We produce basically 3 types of music or what is known as backtracks for singers and songwriters. (1) We will produce in our studio with software and real musicians a songwriter or artist demo track for sending out to publishers and others involved in the music industry. This is a one song track and the cost for building such a track is $185.00. (2) We will produce in our studio a complete track with live musicians for use as a demo track for an artist or songwriter as described above. This type of track is also a one song track. The cost of this production is $ 350.00 per track. This type of track will be radio ready and may be used for radio airplay. It may also be used for demonstration purposes. (3) We will have a complete Nashville Studio track produced with Nashville studio musicians. This type track will be radio ready and may be used for radio airplay as well as for demonstration purposed. The cost per song track is $ 650.00 (4) We can provide a lead vocalist for songwriters who need someone else to sing their songs. We can also provide backup singers for those who wish to use them on their recordings. A Demo Singer charges $ 50.00 per song. Our backup singers charge $ 75.00 per song. Open Door Movie Score Production and Commercial Radio Jingle Production We compose musical themes and scores to be used as background and lead music for Movie and Television productions. We also write and produce commercial radio jingles. The cost of these services are on a per project basis. Contact us for pricing.
